About the Inspired Observer

‘It’s difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It’s a wonder I haven’t abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.’ Anne Frank

On a daily basis we are constantly reminded that our planet is a troubled and violent place, to the point that many of us have come to accept this as a fact. Yet, the truth is, if we continue to perceive conflict and violence as the norm – while treating global peace and cooperation as elusive goals –  so they will be. What we expect will persist and what we believe we create. For that reason alone, perceptions of our world do matter.

With this in mind, we have created the Inspired Observer blog, which offers an alternative perspective of our world and the challenges we face. Through reflecting on global issues and events, we will endeavour to find light, even in the darkest situations. We welcome your insights and contributions to these discussions and hope that together we can start to elevate perceptions of the planet and our potential to manifest change within it.
